Council members want bigger tax cut

Burton to keep $1.16 tax rate
The Burton school board is going to hold the line on taxes. The final decision won’t be made until Aug. 30, but the board’s decision Monday night to propose an overall tax rate of $1.16 per $100 of property valuation means the rate can’t go above last year’s amount.
