how hot is stock exhaust gas on a 4-cyl?
Stocks February 5th, 2010I have a Scion TC with 2.5 liter toyota engine. Also this would be running on 87 octane.
OK. I am trying to thermal coal my headers and they say the shine will dull at temperatures of 1300+ degrees.
Do you think they will get that high even after a thermal coat inside and out?

Normal operating temp. exhaust on this vehicle is 395 degrees give
or take 25 degrees.
It is not advised to touch any exhaust part due to extreme temps.
At the catylitic converter temps. are running almost 580 degrees
and sometimes hotter.

depends if engine is under a load or not under a load. if it is under a load it can get up to around 1000+ – degrees. under normal idle conditions somewhere around 200+ -degrees
